The game

What is Choke Point: Tower Defense?

Choke Point: Tower Defense is a tower defense strategy game for iPhone and iPad from Scarlet Aurora Interactive, in which every tower you build changes the route the Machines take to your base.

Ground Machines always take the shortest open route from their portal to your Firewall, and they re-plan it the moment you build. You can bend that route as far as you like but never seal it, so the craft is steering them through a choke point where your towers do the most damage.

What makes it different from other tower defense games?

In Choke Point you shape the path as well as the defenses: the Machines reroute around every tower you place, and you win by forcing their route through the choke point.

When the route runs through a battlefield’s choke point, the zone goes live. Ground Machines destroyed there charge Choke Control, which pays out Supplies such as Airstrike, Flash Freeze and Time Rewind. Later battlefields add twists of their own, like a second entrance, blast gates, tiered ground and seismic crossings, and every battlefield has its own Mega Boss.

What game modes are there?

Choke Point has two modes, the Wave Defense campaign and Stronghold, plus Training.

Wave Defense takes you across seven battlefields, from Open Field to Evacuation, on Relaxed, Normal or Hard. In Stronghold you defend a single core against Machines attacking from every side, across four levels on Relaxed, Standard, or Hard. Training teaches the basics step by step.

What is Stronghold?

Stronghold is Choke Point’s second mode: one fortress core in an open arena fires on its own while Machines close in from every side.

Pick one of five starting cores (Sentry, Arc, Mortar, Lance, and Incinerator), draft upgrades as the waves climb, and fire Repulse and Siege Shot yourself. Four levels, Core Perimeter, Foundry, Relay Yard, and Fragment Works, run 77 waves each, with their own armor trait, a signature enemy and a Mega Boss. Medals unlock Workshop perks, and after the last wave you can keep going in Endless or take on the Daily Defense, with Game Center leaderboards for both.

How many towers, battlefields and enemies are there?

Choke Point has ten towers, seven battlefields and fourteen kinds of Machines. Wave Defense has four bosses and seven Mega Bosses, plus a Mega Boss on each of the four Stronghold levels.

There are also three difficulty levels and eleven Supplies, one-shot tools like Airstrike and Time Rewind. Towers unlock as you survive, from the Sentry Post at wave 1 to the Incinerator at wave 175. Stronghold adds four levels of its own.

What accessibility options does it have?

Choke Point has its own accessibility settings for text size, contrast, motion and flashes, battle captions, haptics and game pace, and it supports VoiceOver, hardware keyboards and game controllers.

Reduce Motion and the contrast options follow your device’s settings by default. You can start waves at half speed, start each wave yourself, and pause the action while you build on any difficulty.
